WINDHOEK, (CAJ News) – DIGITAL travel planning platforms have catapulted Namibia as Africa’s most authentic and in-demand tourism destinations.

The African Tourism Board (ATB) has conferred that accolade, based on ongoing market intelligence its marketing representatives have gathered in Germany and New York, United States.

ATB reports that international interest in Namibia continues to grow, digital platforms backing responsible travel are also gaining visibility.

VisitSossusvleiNamibia.com, recently recognised as Booking Portal of the Month, has emerged as a widely used resource for travelers planning journeys to Namibia’s iconic desert regions, including Sossusvlei and Deadvlei.

“Digital platforms that support informed, responsible travel planning are becoming essential,” Francis Gichaba, Vice President of ATB Marketing Corporation, said.

“Namibia is a destination that requires preparation and understanding, and travelers are increasingly turning to specialized resources to plan longer, more meaningful journeys.”

ATB reports that Namibia’s growing appeal reflects a fundamental shift in global travel behavior, with experienced travelers increasingly prioritising low-density destinations, conservation-led tourism models and meaningful cultural engagement over mass-market tourism.

“Namibia represents authenticity without compromise,” said Juergen Steinmetz, patron of ATB.

“It is a destination that does not dilute its identity to attract visitors. Instead, it invites travelers to engage deeply—with nature, with culture, and with Africa itself.”

ATB forecasts Namibia to remain one of Africa’s most closely watched and strategically important tourism destinations.
