JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – TECNO and Itel, the Chinese brands, join South Africa in commemorating Human Rights Day.
This pivotal day is commemorated annually on March 21, serving as a reminder of the sacrifices made during the Sharpeville Massacre in 1960, where many people lost their lives in the fight against apartheid.
It highlights the importance of promoting and protecting human rights, ensuring that every individual is afforded the freedoms and protections guaranteed by the Constitution of South Africa.
“As a leading technology brand, Tecno and Itel recognise the vital role that technology plays in advancing human rights and fostering inclusivity,” Transsion Holdings, owner of the brands, stated.
“By leveraging technology, individuals and communities can be empowered, ensuring that everyone has access to the tools and resources necessary to exercise their rights and improve their lives.”
Tecno Itel believes every individual should have the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background.
“Together, we can create a society that values and respects the rights of all its members, the brands add,” Transsion Holdings stated.
As part of the commemoration, Tecno invites everyone to join in the conversation by sharing their human stories, reflecting on the importance of human rights in their own lives and communities.
There are prizes to be won.
