JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – MORE speakers have been announced for the Singularity Summit South Africa 2026, which will deepen the conversation on artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing and human potential.
The summit, scheduled for Johannesburg in October, comes as AI continues to accelerate and quantum computing edges closer to practical reality.
Among the newly confirmed speakers is Mark Jackson, a leading voice in quantum computing, who will explore one of the world’s most transformative and least understood technologies.
The summit will also welcome DaeWha Kang, an architect at global practice RIAAD. He will explore how emerging technologies are reshaping spatial design and the built environments of the future.
Further discussions will examine Africa’s technological future and growing digital independence.
Lavina Ramkissoon from the African Union (AU) will unpack the growing importance of sovereign AI and Africa’s role in shaping its own technological future.
Dr Natalie Raphil, founder of Robots Can Think and ambassador for South Africa’s Women in AI community, will discuss human-centred AI and empowering women in technology.
Atenkosi Ngubevana will further expand the discussion around AI sovereignty and the continent’s evolving position within the global AI ecosystem.
The summit will also welcome Celiwe Ross, Group Chief Human Capital and Corporate Affairs Officer at Old Mutual, who will share insights on leadership in an era defined by complexity, uncertainty and accelerated technological change.
The summit will be held in collaboration with Old Mutual and metaverse partner, UBU.
Ross said the latest speakers announced as part of the Singularity Summit line-up would demystify critical topics such as quantum computing and AI, equipping attendees with insights that matter.
“Ultimately, these are the forces that will shape how our customers prosper, manage risk and secure their futures,” she said.
Mic Mann, co-CEO of Singularity South Africa, said, “As technologies like AI and quantum computing continue to advance, the value of deeply human capabilities becomes even more important.”
He said education could no longer be centred solely on memorisation and standardisation.
“We need to rethink how we teach problem-solving, adaptability, motivation and meaningful human connection, while empowering teachers to become guides who help children navigate a world that is changing faster than ever,” Mann said.
