DAR-ES-SALAAM, (CAJ News) – TANZANIA is set to host a major international economic forum in 2026 as preparations gather pace for the inaugural Unicorn Allianz® State Summit (UASS), an event expected to position the country at the centre of economic diplomacy and investment dialogue in Africa.

The summit, organised by Unicorn Allianz in collaboration with the President’s Office through the Ministry of State, President’s Office – Planning and Investment, under the Tanzania Investment Centre and Special Economic

Zones Authority (TISEZA) is projected to be one of the continent’s largest economic and investment gatherings. It will bring together senior government leaders, ambassadors, global investors and representatives of international development institutions.

Scheduled for 17–18 February 2026, the summit will take place at the Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam.

Officials say the forum forms part of the government’s broader efforts to implement long-term development strategies aligned with the National Development Vision 2050, with a strong focus on strengthening economic diplomacy, promoting partnerships and enhancing Tanzania’s investment appeal.

According to organisers, the summit aims to reinforce national cohesion, expand international cooperation and provide direction on domestic and foreign investment trends.

It is also designed as a high-level platform for strategic dialogue, policy discussion and knowledge exchange, while deepening collaboration between government institutions, the private sector and development partners.

UASS is expected to convene more than 16 ministries, including their respective ministers, alongside an estimated 600 senior government leaders and officials.

The event is also anticipated to attract significant international participation, with invitations extended to more than 50 ambassadors and representatives from major global development organisations such as the World Bank, the United Nations and the African Development Bank, among others.

Discussions during the two-day summit will cover a wide range of priority economic sectors, including health, mining, energy, industry and trade, agriculture, tourism, technology, construction and infrastructure, finance and insurance, and transport.

These sectors are regarded as critical drivers for accelerating Tanzania’s economic growth and social development.

By hosting the summit, Tanzania aims to strengthen its role as a regional hub for investment and economic diplomacy in East Africa and beyond, globally strategically.
