NAIROBI, (CAJ News) – AFRICAN-BORN technology giant Cassava Technologie has launched the continent’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) Multi-Model Exchange, a groundbreaking platform designed to expand access to advanced AI tools for mobile network operators (MNOs) and enterprises across Africa.
The new platform, known as the Cassava AI Multi-Model Exchange (CAIMEx), offers a unified interface through which businesses can access and integrate multiple AI models from leading global providers, including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.
By providing a single point of connection, CAIMEx eliminates the need for costly infrastructure or complex integrations, allowing African MNOs to easily deploy powerful AI models tailored to their operational and customer needs.
“Africa has the potential to be more than a consumer of imported AI technologies,” said Ahmed El Beheiry, CEO of Cassava AI.
“Through CAIMEx, we are creating a bridge between global innovation and African ambition—empowering operators to deliver world-class AI-driven services quickly and affordably.”
The exchange currently supports models such as Anthropic’s Claude and Google’s Gemini, among others. These models enable diverse applications ranging from real-time customer engagement and intelligent automation to advanced data analytics and ethical decision-making.
Beyond functionality, CAIMEx addresses one of Africa’s most pressing digital challenges—data sovereignty.
All services are hosted within Cassava’s regional AI factories, ensuring that sensitive data remains within African borders.
This local hosting guarantees compliance with privacy and data protection regulations while providing high-performance computing power and secure data management.
Cassava says the platform is designed not only for large enterprises but also to give millions of mobile subscribers and small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) across the continent access to next-generation AI capabilities.
The launch marks another step in Cassava Technologies’ mission to drive Africa’s digital transformation through accessible, secure, and scalable infrastructure.
Headquartered in London with operations across Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and the United States, Cassava Technologies operates brands including Liquid Intelligent Technologies, Africa Data Centres, Distributed Power Africa, Sasai Fintech, and Liquid C2.
