LUSAKA, (CAJ News) – IN the true spirit of “ubuntu” a delegation of ambassadors from several Africa countries have visited a Zambian family that recently lost three children in a house fire caused by lightning.

Godfrey Chitanga, the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) Lusaka Provincial Youth Chairman responsible for Politics and Mobilization, led the envoys from Botswana, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Kenya, Mozambique, Rwanda, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania and Zimbabwe to the Phiri family.

Chitanga expressed gratitude to the delegation for their compassion and for recognising the shared humanity (ubuntu).

He noted the importance of unity in Africa, highlighting the need to support and embrace one another during times of crisis.

Gabriel Mulambwa, Chipata Main Seventh Day Adventist Church, Midland West President, said the display of solidarity was a testament to love, which had been acknowledged by the international community through the support provided by the embassies.

“While the assistance given to the family is important, the most important aspect is witnessing these nations come together as one Africa to support and comfort a grieving family,” he said.
