CAPE TOWN, (CAJ News) – THE 28th edition of AfricaCom, the largest gathering of Africa-focused connectivity leaders in the world, has kicked off in Cape Town, South Africa.
It runs until Thursday in the South African coastal city.
THE South African Department of Communications and Digital Technologies (DCDT) confirmed the participation of Minister, Solly Malatsi, and Deputy Minister, Mondli Gungubele in the Africa Tech Festival.
The festival is one of Africa’s leading platforms for innovation, uniting tech leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers and investors from across the continent and around the world.
On Monday, the summit opened with the African Telecommunications Union (ATU) Ministerial Forum.
The Africa Tech Festival opening ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday.
The 2024 edition attracted the attendance of 15 000 delegates.
This year’s programme will feature content sessions, exhibitions, and high-level discussions focused on emerging technologies, digital inclusion, start-up growth, connectivity, and the development of Africa’s digital economy.
