JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – CHERY South Africa has cemented its position as one of the country’s fastest-growing automotive brands, with the Tiggo 4 range dominating October 2025 sales and ranking as South Africa’s third best-selling passenger vehicle.

According to the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (NAAMSA) figures, 1,725 Tiggo 4 units were sold in October, outpacing several long-established rivals and pushing Chery’s total monthly sales to 2,210 units.

The compact crossover’s appeal—offering premium styling, advanced technology, and affordability—has made it a favourite among local motorists.

Available in 13 derivatives, from entry-level to hybrid models, the Tiggo 4 lineup has proven its staying power with 4,889 units sold in the third quarter of 2025 alone.

The Tiggo 4 Cross, priced from R269,900, remains a standout value proposition in its segment, offering a rich mix of comfort, safety, and practicality.

Jay Jay Botes, General Manager for Chery South Africa, said the success reflects the brand’s deep understanding of the market:

“We’re thrilled that the Tiggo 4 range continues to capture the imagination of South African motorists. This success embodies what Chery stands for—quality, innovation, and customer-focused design.”

The momentum extends to Chery’s electrified range, with the Tiggo Cross CSH Hybrid emerging as one of South Africa’s best-selling hybrid vehicles. With an impressive fuel consumption of 5.4L/100 km and a starting price of R439,900, it is also the country’s most affordable hybrid, further boosting Chery’s green credentials.

Founded in Wuhu, China, in 1997, Chery has grown into one of the world’s largest independent automakers, with operations in over 80 countries.

Since entering South Africa in 2021, the brand’s Tiggo SUV lineup has reshaped the local motoring landscape—offering premium comfort and cutting-edge technology at accessible prices.

With its strong hybrid push and expanding SUV range, Chery’s rise in South Africa shows no signs of slowing down.
