LUANDA, (CAJ News) – ANGOLA Cables and global Network as a Service (NaaS) provider, Megaport, have announced a dual arrangement whereby customers can selectively connect to over 930 data centres and more than 300 cloud nodes across the world.
The connection would be through the Megaport global network underlay and the international Angola Cables network.
Through this collaboration, Angola Cables and Megaport will interconnect in key global locations – New York, Miami and London – offering users on the Angola Cables network access to Megaport’s expansive ecosystem of service providers, data centres and cloud solutions.
Mahen Naidu, Head of Business Solutions at TelCables South Africa, a subsidiary of Angola Cables, said the on-ramps to Megaport’s global Software Defined Network (SDN) is a major leap forward for digital connectivity on the African continent.
“Given the configuration of our subsea cable and partner networks, we are effectively opening up a ‘super corridor’ for the express transit of data and traffic from East to West,” Naidu said.
The Megaport global ecosystem also gives customers direct access to its latest AI-Exchange and Financial Services Exchange.
Matt Simpson, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Global Channel for Megaport, said the partnership benefits all parties and opens a door to a range of solutions and services that could benefit emerging economies and businesses in Africa.
The SDN simplifies connectivity for enterprises looking to interconnect between data centres, cloud and AI, internet exchanges and over 300 service providers across five continents.
