SASSA has announced the payment dates for various grant categories for July 2024, following the release of the payment schedule for the 2024/25 financial year.
Payment Schedule
During the first week of July, SASSA will distribute grants to elderly, child, and disability grant recipients in the following order:
- Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Grants: Tuesday, 2 July 2024
- Old Age Grants: Wednesday, 3 July 2024
- Disability Grants: Thursday, 4 July 2024
- Children’s Grants: Thursday, 4 July 2024
Grant Increases
Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana presented the 2024 Budget Speech earlier this year, announcing increases in permanent social grants to align with inflation and improve accessibility:
- An increase of R100 for Old Age, War Veterans, Disability, and Care Dependency Grants, with R90 effective from April and R10 effective from October.
- A R50 increase for the Foster Care Grant.
- A R20 increase for the Child Support Grant.
