Arrows 3-2 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns in a thrilling ABSA premiership encounter played on Sunday at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Durban.

Sundowns scored their goals through Thapelo Morena (40) and Andile Jali (88) but the premiership champions could not find that desperately needed equaliser to share spoils.

Abafana Bes’thende as Golden Arrows are affectionately called found themselves 0-1 when Morena rifled home from close range after goalkeeper Edmore Sibanda slipped to gift the visitors an easy opener.

Barely few minutes into the second half, Zimbabwean international duo of Phiri (61st) and Mtizwa (72, 81) banged three quick goals that changed the complexion of the match.

The equalising goal for Golden Arrows came from a thunderous strike by Phiri after being setup by fellow countryman Mtizwa.

Before Sundowns could organise their defence, Mtizwa struck with a ferocious grounder following an inviting cross from overlapping Divine Lunga.

Mtizwa completed his double with a well taken penalty spot kick after Seth Parusnath was hacked down by Sundowns defenders Mosa Lebusa and Motjeka Madisha in the 12-yard box.

The victory on Sunday pushed Golden Arrows to fourth position on the premiership table with 17 points from 11 games played.
