JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – OPPO has launched the Reno16 F 5G in South Africa, targeting a new generation of smartphone users who rely on their devices to capture, edit and share content.
The camera-focused smartphone combines a multi-camera system with a large battery, 5G connectivity and design features aimed at users who want both creative flexibility and everyday performance.
“The camera is where the experience starts for many users,” Liam Faurie, Head of Go-to-market and Operations at OPPO South Africa, said.
The Reno16 F 5G’s Ultra-Clear Camera System includes a 50MP main camera and a 50MP 3.5x telephoto portrait camera with optical zoom.
An 8MP ultra-wide camera offers a 100-degree field of view, while a 50MP ultra-wide selfie camera is designed to accommodate more people and surroundings.
OPPO has also equipped the handset with artificial intelligence-powered tools intended to turn photographs and videos into social media content.
AI Remix Collage and Popout 2.0 enable users to remix images, while POP Cam adds vintage-inspired effects.
AI Portrait Glow adjusts lighting and colour in portraits, while Natural Tone 2.0 aims to maintain consistency between previews and final images.
Video features include 4K Auto Straighten Video, Zoom Free Video and Dual-View Video 2.0, which records the user and their surroundings simultaneously.
The device is powered by a 7,000mAh battery using silicon-anode technology and supports 80W SUPERVOOC charging, reaching 50 percent in approximately 30 minutes.
Its 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED display has a 120Hz Smart Adaptive refresh rate, while IP69K water and dust resistance adds durability.
Under the hood is MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300-Energy 5G platform, supported by 8GB of RAM, expandable to 24GB through RAM Expansion, and 256GB of storage.
ColorOS 16 provides the software platform, while OPPO’s six-year Fluency Certification is designed to support long-term performance.
The Reno16 F 5G is available from R599 per month for 36 months or R16 999 outright through participating retailers and networks, including Vodacom, Telkom, MTN, Cell C and Takealot.
Launch customers receive an OPPO Bubble magnetic mini-display or realme Watch 5, plus six months of OPPO Care Screen Repair Service Warranty, a SUPERVOOC charger, screen protector and phone cover, with the promotional package valued at R5 999.
