LUANDA, (CAJ News) – SOUTH African companies exhibiting at the Feira Internacional de Angola (FILDA) 2026 have received a warm welcome from the Angola–South Africa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, reinforcing growing economic cooperation between the two countries.
The business delegation, participating in the exhibition from 21 to 26 July in Luanda, was honoured at a reception held under the theme, Building Bridges for Trade and Innovation.
The event highlighted opportunities to deepen commercial partnerships and encourage greater trade and investment between Angola and South Africa.
Supported by the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic), the delegation comprises companies from the agro-processing, steel and metal fabrication, engineering, mining and chemicals sectors.
The firms are showcasing South African products, technologies and services to potential partners and investors.
Chamber General Secretary Alex Francisco said South Africa’s participation at FILDA reflected the strengthening relationship between the two nations.
As Angola continues to diversify its economy, he noted that significant opportunities exist in manufacturing, mining, energy and logistics.
He reaffirmed the chamber’s commitment to connecting businesses through investment facilitation, partnership development, market guidance and initiatives that promote sustainable growth, skills development and stronger bilateral economic ties.
South Africa’s Acting Ambassador to Angola, Vuyisa Mandile, said the country’s participation demonstrated its commitment to expanding commercial partnerships across Africa and strengthening economic cooperation with Angola.
She described Angola as an increasingly attractive investment destination, citing government reforms aimed at improving the ease of doing business, encouraging private sector participation, diversifying the economy beyond oil and attracting foreign direct investment.
Mandile said South African companies were well placed to contribute expertise, innovation and technical capabilities to Angola’s development priorities.
She added that the South African Embassy was working closely with the chamber and other stakeholders to advance economic diplomacy and create a more enabling environment for business.
FILDA is Angola’s largest international multi-sector trade exhibition, attracting exhibitors and investors from across the world.
