CAIRO, (CAJ News) — WHILE Israel continues to enjoy near-total military protection from the United States, its neighbours and the wider international community are increasingly alarmed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s aggressive and destabilising rhetoric.
His latest undiplomatic remarks targeting Egypt have drawn widespread condemnation across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Europe.
On Friday, Netanyahu explicitly threatened Egypt, stating: “The Egyptian army is growing stronger, and we must monitor it closely and prevent its excessive strengthening.”
These comments were widely interpreted as a signal that Israel seeks to undermine the sovereignty of neighbouring states rather than promote regional stability.
The United Nations has repeatedly emphasized that Israel must respect the sovereignty of neighbouring countries, including Egypt and Palestine, while working toward a two-state solution aimed at ending decades of conflict.
Netanyahu’s statements, however, appear to run counter to these international calls for peace.
Critics have been vocal. Vincent Bombardier remarked: “Give them (Israel) their own planet and get done with it already. How about Mars? Sure, it was promised to them. I hear Jupiter is even bigger. Nobody will bother them there.”
Buva Buva added: “So now even Egypt is a threat? At this point it feels like anyone who breathes near Israel gets labeled dangerous. Maybe less paranoia and more diplomacy would actually make the region safer.”
Observers also highlight Israel’s recent military record as evidence of its recklessness.
Between 2024 and 2025, Israel conducted strikes against Lebanon, Syria, Gaza, and Iran-linked targets in Iraq, often citing security concerns while bypassing international law and regional norms.
These actions have repeatedly escalated tensions, causing civilian casualties and threatening broader Middle Eastern security.
Paul Lane condemned Netanyahu’s policies as part of a broader pattern of aggression: “The illegally created British terrorist apartheid Jewish colony in Palestine, which was never England’s to give away, must be immediately dismantled for the sake of humanity, and Netanyahu et alia sent to the Hague for the holocaust of Gaza & the genocide of the Palestinians.”
Similarly, Mohamed Abdulmotale observed: “Just your (Netanyahu) feeling of danger and fear from any regional power proves you’re an usurper… thieves always fear the strong.”
With Netanyahu continuing to publicly vilify Egypt while simultaneously expanding Israel’s military reach, regional analysts warn that such rhetoric could spark further conflicts, destabilise North Africa and the Middle East, and challenge efforts to achieve lasting peace.
Israel’s unchecked military actions and aggressive posturing underscore why global leaders and international organisations continue to view Netanyahu’s leadership as a danger to humanity, safety, and regional security.
