NIAMEY, (CAJ News) – ZAMANI Telecom, one of Niger’s leading mobile network operators, has appointed Hayo, a global digital solutions innovator, as its exclusive partner for A2P monetisation and SMS firewall services.
This strategic partnership is designed to maximise the profitability of Zamani’s A2P messaging business, increase traffic volumes from major tech companies, and safeguard the integrity of its SMS network.
Under the partnership, Hayo will deploy advanced SMS Firewall solutions to identify and prevent fraud across Zamani’s messaging traffic.
The solution blocks grey-route traffic, ensuring all A2P SMS is terminated through official, whitelisted channels, enabling operators to receive the correct revenue.
Hayo will also implement innovative pricing strategies to prioritise high-value traffic from leading from platforms, including Alibaba, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Meta, Temu, and TikTok, among others.
“Our A2P monetisation strategies and SMS Firewall solutions protect operators from fraud while creating sustainable revenue streams,” said Feraz Ahmed, CEO of Hayo.
“By bringing on-the-ground innovation to Niger, we are helping Zamani maximise the profitability and reliability of its A2P SMS business, ultimately benefiting the entire mobile ecosystem in the country.”
Zamani Telecom, formerly Orange Niger, serves over 3 million customers nationwide and provides fixed-line, mobile, and Internet services.
Its mission is to expand access to digital technology and drive the growth and diversification of Niger’s digital economy.
“Hayo has a proven track record in developing solutions that optimise traffic, increase revenue, and enhance competitiveness,” said Paul Loveridge, EVP Carrier Services at Hayo.
“Our partnership with Zamani will ensure every SMS sent over its network is maximised for value, while providing guidance on digital solutions to meet the evolving needs of the telecom sector.”
Hayo’s SMS Firewall solution includes daily penetration testing to detect bypass attempts, OTT-generated simulations, AIT detection to identify unsolicited traffic, and anti-fraud training and consultancy for Zamani’s team.
These measures reduce revenue leakage, improve network security, and maintain a dynamic and evolving security posture, safeguarding both operator and customer interests.
