JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – THE Mr Price Foundation has opened applications for its Foundation Coffee Incubators, inviting young women with an interest in entrepreneurship to participate in a hands-on business growth opportunity within the coffee industry.
The initiative offers selected candidates the chance to manage and operate café kiosks located inside Mr Price Home stores, providing real-world business exposure, entrepreneurial skills development, and income-generating opportunities.
Unlike conventional training programmes, Foundation Coffee is designed around practical experience, placing participants directly into operational retail environments where they can learn by running a business from day one.
Foundation Coffee is a revenue-driven entrepreneurship development programme aimed at building sustainable micro-businesses with long-term growth potential.
Participants benefit from structured mentorship, on-the-job learning, and skills development across customer service, daily operations, and basic financial management, while building credible entrepreneurial track records.
“We are focused on creating pathways that allow young people to build sustainable businesses,” said Octavius Phukubye, Executive Director of the Mr Price Foundation.
“Foundation Coffee places entrepreneurs in real commercial environments where they can grow their skills, confidence, and credibility. The success of the first three kiosks will demonstrate what is possible when established businesses actively support small enterprise development.”
Applications are open to candidates who will operate café kiosks at three Mr Price Home store locations: Diep River in Cape Town, Hillcrest in Durban, and Nelspruit Crossing in Mbombela.
The programme aligns with changing consumer trends as coffee increasingly becomes part of everyday retail experiences.
By integrating quality coffee offerings into high-footfall retail spaces, the initiative enhances the customer journey while creating accessible entrepreneurial opportunities.
With every cup sold, Foundation Coffee contributes to youth empowerment, economic participation, and community development.
Each kiosk represents not just a business, but a pathway toward skills development, resilience, and financial independence.
Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their applications via the Mr Price Foundation Microsoft Form.
Applications close on 16 January 2026, with early submissions strongly advised due to limited placement availability.
