WINDHOEK, (CAJ News) – CONSTRUCTION for Namibia’s first large-scale biomass utility project has received a major boost with the shipment of core boiler modules from China.
DHB Boiler has announced the shipment of the 300 tons of critical heating surface components for the Otjikoto 40 MW biomass power plant.
“The shipment represents the culmination of months of precision manufacturing at DHB Boiler’s facility,” the company stated.
The delivered cargo comprises the Otjikoto project’s “heart’ include flue gas coolers, economizers, water walls, superheater elements and headers.
DHB Boiler said each component underwent rigorous in-house inspections before dispatch, ensuring full compliance.
“This strict adherence to global protocols ensures that the equipment can withstand the demanding operational conditions of utility-grade power generation.”
The Otjikoto is a strategic asset for Namibia’s energy future.
Unlike intermittent renewable sources like solar or wind, it is projected to stabilise the regional grid and reduce reliance on imported power.
“DHB Boiler is proud to provide the thermal technology that converts this ecological burden into clean, reliable power.”
