JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – WITH Microsoft set to officially end support for Windows 10 this month of October, Acer South Africa has launched its “Make the Switch” campaign to help consumers transition smoothly to Windows 11 with a range of new AI-ready devices.

The security implications of staying on Windows 10 are significant.

Once support ends, users will no longer receive critical security updates, leaving systems vulnerable to malware, ransomware, and data breaches.

Cybersecurity experts have long warned that unsupported operating systems are prime targets for attackers, making timely upgrades essential.

Acer’s promotion, available through ZA Offers, gives South Africans access to devices across multiple segments.

The flagship Swift 14 AI introduces Intel® Core™ Ultra processors with AI Boost, designed for advanced multitasking and creativity.

The Swift Go and Swift Lite lines target students and hybrid workers with portability and performance, while the Aspire Lite range offers budget-friendly reliability for families and first-time buyers.

“The end of Windows 10 is more than a software milestone – it’s a turning point for South Africans to embrace smarter, safer technology,” said Glenn Du Toit, Acer Africa’s Country Manager.

The initiative also includes extended warranties, cashback deals, and local support through Acer’s service network. By offering options across different price points, Acer is positioning itself as a key player in ensuring South Africans don’t just upgrade, but also future-proof their devices with AI-enabled performance and long-term security.
