JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – VODACOM South Africa has been recognised as the Mobile Operator Industry Winner at the 2025/26 Ask Africa Orange Index Awards, cementing its position as a leader in customer experience.

The Ask Africa Orange Index, established in 2001, is South Africa’s most comprehensive customer experience benchmark, evaluating more than 200 brands across 26 industries.

Based on over 46 000 consumer interviews, the independently audited study highlights service leaders across sectors.

Sitho Mdlalose, CEO of Vodacom South Africa, said the award reflects the company’s commitment to “putting customers first and building meaningful relationships.”

He credited Vodacom teams for driving innovation and service excellence as part of the company’s mission to “connect everyone to a better future.”

In an industry often criticised for service challenges, Vodacom has introduced several initiatives to improve customer interactions.

These include TOBi, its AI-powered chatbot, the VodaPay super app, and a multilingual customer care centre with specialised services for people with disabilities, including sign language users.

Mdlalose added: “Wherever our customers are in Mzansi, we are intentional about removing friction, simplifying processes, and getting it right the first time.”
