JUBA, (CAJ News) – MTN South Sudan is leveraging the power of mobile technology to expand access to financial services, especially for underserved communities in the country.

It has launched its latest mobile money (MoMo) campaign titled Mata Fekir, translating to “What are you thinking?/Don’t Worry.”

The objective of the campaign is to increase MoMo adoption, educate users on digital finance and foster trust in mobile transactions.

Through such solutions, MTN pledges to simplify transactions, encourage savings and promote economic participation across South Sudan.

“This campaign is not just about technology; it’s about people,” Francis Matseketsa, MoMo Fintech Chief Executive Officer, said.

“It’s about giving every South Sudanese the tools to manage their money, grow their businesses, and secure their futures,” he added at the launch event.

The event on Friday brought together key stakeholders from government, regulatory bodies, financial institutions and the private sector to celebrate what is hailed as a bold step forward in digital financial empowerment.

Among these are representatives from the National Communications Authority, Bank of South Sudan, Ministry of ICT and Postal Services and the Chamber of Commerce.

The “Mata Fekir” campaign is set to roll out nationwide, with targeted outreach, educational drives and promotional offers aimed at increasing MoMo usage and financial literacy.

South Sudan, the world’s newest country, is promoting the adoption of digital payment systems.
