CAPE TOWN, (CAJ News) STAKEHOLDERS in the maritime, offshore, marine and oil and gas industries will meet in Cape Town next month to assess how to grow the sectors.

They will meet under the aegis of the sixth Cape Industries Showcase (CIS).

“We are very proud to open the doors on the 11th September to our visitors who will be able to take part in our high level stakeholders engagement forum, gain valuable CPD points from our workshops and meet and do business with our host of exhibitors at the sixth edition of
CIS,” said Lynn Chamier, Event Director.

This year’s edition comes after the Brulpadda gas discovery, seen as a major opportunity for South Africa and for the Cape to drive economic growth and facilitate skilled employment opportunities in the oil and gas industry.

“The 6th Cape Industries Showcase is therefore an important platform to engage and plan for how the Cape can best support this sector,” said Transnet National Ports Authority’s Mossel Bay Port Manager, Shadrack Tshikalange.

“We as TNPA are committed to working with all stakeholders to enhance the province’s capacity to serve as an enabler for the booming marine/offshore, maritime and oil & gas industries.”

In February, Total announced it had made a significant gas condensate discovery on the Brulpadda prospects, located on Block 11B/12B in the Outeniqua Basin, 175 kilometers off the southern coast of South Africa.
