JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) BUOYED by a massive increase in revenues globally, French mobile technology firm, Crosscall, has set its sights on the South African market.

Crosscall specialises on outdoor, waterproof smartphones and professional phones.

Its earnings have soared from €51,2 million (R812 million) to €71,6 million (R1,1 billion), representing a 40 percent rise within the space of a year.

Officials believe this proves Crosscall’s ability to disrupt the international telecommunications markets.

Julien Fouriot, Sales Director for Africa, mirrored this sentiment.

“Crosscall has taken steps to ensure its success in each market they enter,” said Fouriot.

The official said Crosscall focused on the business-business market actively seeking out organisations that needed tougher cellphones.

Some of these industries include farming, security, mining and civil engineering.

Cyril Vidal, Founder and President of Crosscall, said sales performance confirmed the company’s commitment to offering unique, durable and reliable products.

“New continents are growth and profit drivers for Crosscall. We have created a segment that is proving to be increasingly dynamic because it corresponds with consumer and business design usage,” Vidal said.

Crosscall sees South Africa as an excellent launch platform because of stable mobile telecommunications operators as well as a mature mobile market driven by technology with increasing 4G and internet of things (IoT) capabilities.

Fouriot added South Africa is a well-known destination for outdoor and sporting enthusiasts and a country full of B2B businesses that need robust devices.

“Crosscall wants to provide mobiles that fit seamlessly into both the professional and outdoor enthusiast’s lifestyle,” Fouriot concluded.
