JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) HUAWEI believes its recently-released P30 Pro smartphone is on course to become the company’s most popular handset in South Africa.

The projections follow the Huawei P30 Pro showing, in five days of sales, a 244 percent increase when compared to the number of Huawei P20 Pro devices sold during its launch week in mid-2018.

Sales of the Huawei P30 show a 44 percent increase on the number of Huawei P20 smartphones sold during its first week of sales, according to the company.

The Huawei P30 Pro is the world’s first smartphone with a Leica quad camera and features additional innovations in photography and videography.

The Huawei P30 Pro currently sits on top of the DxOMark leader-board with a total score of 112, making it the first device to break the 110 rating threshold.

Huawei also takes joint second place on the DxOMark leaderboard (109) with its Huawei P20 Pro and Huawei Mate 20 Pro, along with Samsung’s Galaxy S10 Plus.

Huawei occupies second spot in the South African smartphone market.
