JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – ON Track Innovations (OTI), the Israeli-based firm, has concluded a US$1 million deal to supply its patient information smart cards and biometric verification technology to Zambia and some East African countries in 2018.

Besides Zambia, OTI’s South African subsidiary will deliver the technology to Kenya, South Sudan and Uganda.

“OTI’s advanced solutions offer securer treatment for patients, access to medical information, reduction in medical errors and adverse events,” said Shlomi Cohen OTI Chief Executive Officer.

“Our ongoing activity in the region proves OTI’s dedication in providing a better service to the African community.”

Listed on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange in America, OTI is a global provider of near field communication (NFC) and cashless payment solutions.

OTI smart cards validate the identity of the patient by using unique biometric fingerprint technology eliminating fraud and multiple impersonations.

Its technology securely encrypts and stores the medical data on a portable medical information device.
