JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – RAPELANG Rabana’s decision to step down from a role as chief executive officer to assume a position as chairperson marks a significant shift on Rekindle Learning’s journey.
Rekindle is the leading e-learning, web learning, m-learning, mobile learning firm.
Rabana is stepping down after founding the company three years ago and going through high risk years of refining the value proposition, completing major research and development R&D milestones and securing a stable client base.
Rabana will also be taking on a new role as Chief Digital Officer of ICT giant, BCX, the enterprise subsidiary of Telkom.
Nomsa Seisa, a seasoned business executive and entrepreneur who has been with the company since the beginning of the year, will take over the role of CEO.
Rekindle Learning will be joining Telkom’s FutureMakers enterprise development programme.
“This will be a major boost for Rekindle Learning growth path as it can now access BCX and Telkom’s wider network of customers and market access channels,” Seisa said.
Rabana said her new role provided a great platform to pioneer disruptive digital solutions and most importantly to work with innovative tech companies and grow them to scale through BCX’s ecosystem.
“Change is never easy, especially when it involves a business you started, but I believe this is great outcome for Rekindle Learning and the next phase of my journey,” she said.
Ian Russell, CEO of BCX, described Rabana as a true maverick and disruptor.
“She has done truly amazing work to advance technology in this country, and I know they will do the same for BCX,” Rusell said.
Rapelang will continue to serve as a non-executive Chairperson for Rekindle Learning and non-executive Director of Nisela Capital.
She will officially join BCX on December 1.
