Cyber security tightened in Southern Africa

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – THE distribution of Bitdefender cyber security technology is set for expansion in the Southern African region following the appointment of Rectron to distribute the products.
Bitdefender, the leading global cyber security firm, has appointed Rectron as an authorised distributor of its range of consumer products to the region, in such countries as Lesotho, Namibia South Africa and Swaziland.
Effective immediately, Rectron will be distributing products such as the recently released Bitdefender 2018 range that comprises Bitdefender Total Security, Internet Security and Antivirus Plus.
Bitdefender will also form part of the distributor’s extended software services which includes Rectron ICT Cloud, a turnkey, hyper-converged cloud solution, and offered as a complimentary solution to the distributor’s extensive hardware portfolio.
Additionally, Bitdefender will form an important part of our cloud solution which includes leading vendors such as Microsoft, Intel and Acronis.
Pablo Puig, Channel Director (Africa) at Bitdefender, said Rectron was a leading ICT company offering a large distribution footprint in Southern Africa.
“Their appointment will undoubtedly strengthen our efforts to aggressively grow Bitdefender in the region. Plus, with Rectron’s noteworthy hardware offering, Bitdefender will be a strong complimentary product to the company’s channel partners,”Puig said.
Elaine Wang, Cloud and Software Solutions Director at Rectron, said in an increasingly interconnected world, it was crucial the company offered security software that effectively protected valuable information.
“With the Bitdefender consumer range, we are providing resellers with a security solution that is consistently rated top-in-class by research organisations,” Wang said.
