JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – REJUVENATED striker, Thabiso Kutumela, is eager to transform his imperious form in the Reserve League to the Absa Premiership.
Almost forgotten after an unmemorable spell with Orlando Pirates in the
past season, the Limpopo-born centre forward has struck a rich vein of
form in the Multichoice-sponsored league.
The former Baroka FC striker has netted twice for Bucs as they defeated
AmaZulu 2-1 in their first match of the 2017/18 reserve league.
This resurgence has made the 24-year-old Kutumela believe he can finally make the mark with the first team.
“I believe that if I work hard I will get my chance, and I will grab it
with both hands,” said the former Baroka FC striker and national first
division (NFD) top goal scorer.
“I am happy that I scored these goals. This should help me rebuild my
confidence and return to the form I was in during my days at Baroka,” he added.
The ex-NFD most valuable player’s dream move to Premiership giants turned to a nightmare last season as he struggled for game time.
Pirates would eventually finish the season an embarrassing 11th in the
16-team table and Kutumela relegated to the stands.
There were reports he would be shipped out at the end of the 2016/17
campaign but with the speculation now behind him, he is keen to fulfill
his potential under new coach Milutin Sredojevic.
