CAPE TOWN, (CAJ News) – SUPERCHARGED Kaizer Chiefs humiliated Cape Town City 2-0 in a tightly contested Absa premiership match played at Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday night.

The victory gave Chiefs the highly anticipated three crucial points to restore their chances of making an impact this season.

A goal in each half by Siphiwe Tshabalala (47th) and Wiseman Meyiwa (82) were enough to see Kaizer Chiefs humiliate Cape Town City before own home fans.

The Steve Komphela coached Amakhosi meant business from the onset as they bombarded City from left, right and centre with Tshabalala directing all operations from the midfield.

At the back, Zimbabwe international Willard Katsande was a rocky-solid, thwarting the hosts’ strike- force with his hard tackling skills.

The Benni McCarthy coached Cape Town City played well from defence and midfield, but upfront were thwarted by Katsande, Daniel Cardoso and acrobatic goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune.

In other matches, Golden Arrows humiliated Bidvest Wits 3-1 in Braamfontein.

Looking ahead, Maritzburg United host Orlando Pirates at Harry Gwala Stadium on Friday while Ajax Cape Town play Polokwane City at Cape Town Stadium the same evening.

Both matches kick-off at 20:00hrs.
