JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – IT has come to my attention that one of my reporters wrote to the Guptas offering them positive publicity for a fee. I was alerted to this by The Citizen Newspaper, which submitted the outgoing message from my company email.

We have since launched an investigation to establish any other transgressions of this nature because as a Pan African news agency we have a zero tolerance on media ethics.

I also scanned through our websites or archives to check if any Gupta story was produced by any of my reporters. I found none.

Centre for African Journalists (CAJ) News is hereby categorically distancing its self from any Gupta stories.

We have never concocted any story to spruce the image of the Guptas.

And we do not intend to do this in future.

That email was sent without my approval. The tone of writing in that email is inconsistent with the mission statement of CAJ News, an award winning Pan African News Agency that prides itself in fair treatment of news and adherence to media ethics.

Action has just been taken against the reporter involved. We are committed to fair, open and transparent way of doing business.

Even clients consuming our products will attest to the fact that they never received any story from us defending, cleansing, beautifying or sanctifying the Guptas.

Our brand clearly stands out for itself from Cape to Cairo, America, Asia, Europe and Middle East where our stories are extensively used.
