RUSTENBURG, (CAJ News) – THE Zimbabwe Warriors were on the rampaging when they demolished Seychelles 6-0 in a thrilling Cosafa Castle Cup Group B encounter played at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Friday evening.

The Sunday “Mhofu” Chidzambwa coached Warriors were in a no compromising mood as they turned on the heat against the continent’s football lightweights.

The victory saw Zimbabwe finish top in group B while close rivals Madagascar came second following their 4-1 win over Mozambique.

A hat-trick from captain Ovidy Karuru (24), (25), (67), Prince Dube (56) and a double by Ocean Mushure (85), (90) were enough to help Zimbabwe progress into the quarter final.

Karuru, who plies trade at AmaZulu in South Africa proved why the coach made him the captain of the side.

The hard running and skillful Karuru also created numerous other scoring opportunities for fellow Zimbabwean players.

As a result, he was voted the man of the match for the second time.

Zimbabwe now face Swaziland in their next encounter of the Coasafa quarter final.
