RUSTENBURG, (CAJ News) – ZIMBABWE Warriors massacred Mozambique 4-0 in an exciting, but one sided Cosafa Cup encounter contested at Moruleng Stadium in Rustenburg on Monday evening.

A brace from former Kaizer Chiefs forward Ovidy Karuru in 44th and 65th minute and two other beautiful goals by Ocean Mushure (78th) and Blessing Majarira before regulation time were enough to propel the Sunday “Mhofu” Chidzambwa young side to a good start.

Had it not been for the other goal disallowed for alleged offside, Zimbabwe could have won the match 5-0.

The Warriors, who never lost to Mozambique, and the victory on Monday evening cemented their dominance over their eastern neighbours by thoroughly bashing them before a sizeable home cheering crowd from Zimbabwean based residents in the city.

After the Zimbabwe / Mozambique match, Madagascar dismissed their neighbours Seychelles 2-0 in another match played at the same stadium.

Madagascar scored their important goals through Ardino Raveloarisona (44th) and Rinjala Raheriniavo (76th) to also start on a bright kick-off.
