Kenya, US hold dialogue against cyber crime


From MARIA MACHARIA in Nairobi, Kenya,NAIROBI,(CAJ News)- KENYA and the United States have initiated discussions on cybercrime in a world that is undergoing a rapid digital transformation.
The discussions are held under the US-Kenya Cyber and Digital Economy Dialogue in the East African country’s capital Nairobi.Christopher Painter, the Secretary’s Coordinator for Cyber Issues, and Julie Zoller, Acting US Coordinator for International Communications and Information Policy, have travelled to Kenya to discuss such issues with government officials, the private sector, and civil society.
Discussions are scheduled to finish by the end of the week.Painter and Zoller are engaging senior Kenyan leaders to discuss policies related to cyber security, cyber crime and legal cooperation as well as digital economy regulatory and commercial policies, cooperation at the International Telecommunication Union and other internet policy issues.
