ABUJA, (CAJ News) - TWO Nigerian directors have appeared in court for
alleged fraud to the tune of N12,8 million (US$42 500) in a botched cars
purchase.
Auwalu Ila-Sokoto and Nasiru Manjo of Lalle Global Ventures have been
arraigned before Justice Goodluck of the High Court of the Federal Capital
Territory in Maitama, Abuja on a two-count charge of criminal conversion
of property and issuance of dud cheque.
Fahad Shazad Bhutta, the complainant, alleged last April, he delivered to
latest model cars to the pair with the promise the payment will be
effected through cheque on the complainant’s account.
The bank dishonoured the cheques .
Bhutta alleges the accused failed to pay or return the cars.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge.
They have secured N1 million bail.
The case has been adjourned to May 9 and 16. – CAJ News
