JOHANNESBURG– ZIMBABWEAN social entrepreneur, Tsitsi Masiyiwa, has been recognised with the New African Woman Award in Education for her philanthropy and commitment to educating underprivileged children.
She has been honoured at an event in Senegal for her work with Higherlife Foundation – a not for profit organisation she runs and offers
scholarships to orphaned and vulnerable children to give them a better
chance in education.
Over 250 000 children have benefited from the work of Higherlife Foundation, which she chairs.
Masiyiwa is wife of equally-revered businessman and philanthropist, Strive.
The fearless Gambian human rights activist won New African Woman
magazine’s Woman of the Year Award at the Award ceremony that took place in Dakar last night.
she was instrumental in galvanising the opposition that eventually beatlong-term now exiled leader Yahya Jammeh.
