JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – LENOVO has appointed Francois Bornibus as President of its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operations.
The appointment is effective April 1.
Currently Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Lenovo EMEA, Bornibus will report to Luca Rossi who will continue to hold the overarching responsibility for both EMEA and Latin America markets.
In his new position, Bornibus will continue to execute Lenovo’s strategy and transformation initiatives to further strengthen Lenovo’s standing across EMEA.
He is tasked with leveraging Lenovo’s position as the leading PC manufacturer at EMEA where it currently sits third.
Bornibus is also tasked with consolidating Lenovo’s position as the number three server vendor in EMEA and continuing to support Motorola’s ambitions to bring the full portfolio to markets across EMEA in all price categories.
Rossi said Bornibis had a strong track-record within the EMEA business and an extensive understanding of Lenovo, driving outstanding results in a challenging market.
“Together we have set a great foundation that, with Francois’s leadership and experience, will ensure that Lenovo can continue to deliver on our strong business ambitions.”
Bornibus has previously held roles at Compaq, HP, Nokia and Palm.
