Plenty to play for in Limpopo derby

Polokwane derbyBy GIFT NDOLWANE
JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – BOTTOM-placed Baroka FC must take a leaf from their reserve side’s book if they harbor any hopes of surviving relegation from the Absa Premiership.
The reserve side’s 6-3 drubbing of Bloemfontein Celtic in the last round of the Multichoice Diski Challenge is among the major talking points ahead of Baroka’s derby match against a vastly improved Polokwane City in the
Limpopo derby set for the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.
While the reserve side were on cloud nine after a rare victory, on the other hand, the seniors were reeling from a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Cape Town City.
Head coach, Kgoloko Thobejane, fired and rehired in recent weeks, who is eating humble pie after promising to win the league and every domestic cup at the beginning of season, has also seen Bakgaga lose 5 -0 against title
chasing Bidvest Wits.
Polokwane are expected to take advantage of the merry-go-around coaching confusing at Baroka where Thobejane’s replacement, Jacob Sakala and his technical team are suspended after refusing to sign a letter assuring that
the team will win their next four league games against Wits, Cape Town City, Polokwane and Kaizer Chiefs.
While Baroka are staring at relegation, Rise and Shine are sitting at an impressive sixth looking for their first top eight finish.
The last meeting between the two sides produced a thrilling two-all draw at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
