Tribunal endorses Huawei, Growthpoint transaction

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – THE South African Tribunal Commission has recommended the approval, without conditions, of the transaction between Huawei Technologies SA and Growthpoint Properties Ltd in respect of Harrowdene Office Park.
In the proposed transaction the primary target property is the Harrowdene Office Park, Grade A Office Space situated in Woodmead, Gauteng Province.
Harrowdene is presently owned by Growthpoint, a property investment letting enterprise.
Huawei Technologies (Pty) Ltd, a South African company, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Huawei Technologies B.V, an information and communications technology solutions provider incorporated in the Netherlands.
“Huawei Technologies does not own any property letting enterprises from which it derives income in South Africa,” Chantelle Benjamin, Communications: Competition Tribunal, said.
