Troops confirm defeat of Boko Haram

ABUJA, (CAJ News) – NIGERIAN troops declared victory over the brutal Boko Haram after dismantling the terrorists’ flag at the insurgents stronghold northeast of the country.
The flag has been dismantled at Parisu, Camp Zero deep inside the vast Sambisa forest.
Troops said this symbolised the defeat of the militant sect that has killed over 20 000 civilians and displaced over 3 million in vicious campaign to carve in Islamic state in the West African country.

The Boko Haram has perpetrated the attacks over the past seven years.

Government congratulated the Nigerian military for finally seizing the
Sambisa forest from the Boko Haram terrorists, paving the way for the
re-opening of two strategic roads linking Nigeria and neighbouring
countries.

The Maiduguri-Gubio-Damasak road and the Maiduguri-Mungono-Baga road are
among roads closed over the years owing to terror attacks by the Boko
Haram. – CAJ NEWS
