AU salutes Nigeria for winning women’s AFCON

YAOUNDE, (CAJ News) – THE Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, has congratulated Nigeria’s women’s
soccer team for winning the 2016 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Falcons edged hosts Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses 1-0 to win their eighth trophy.

Dlamini Zuma equally congratulated the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the government and people of Cameroon, as well as all teams for the
organisation and participation in the 2016 edition of the African Women Cup of Nations.

The AUC chairperson was in Cameroon to offer her support in the AWCON 2016 finals, organised in Yaounde and Limbe.
