Corrupt Nigeria cops fired for partnering Boko Haram

ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Nigeria Police Force has dismissed nine officers for various crimes including colluding with militants and terrorists Boko Haram wrecking havoc in the northeastern parts of the country.

The culprits also conspired with criminals in cattle rustling, robbery and kidnapping.

It emerged the beleaguered officers, mostly corporals and sergeants, supplied militants with explosives.

They have been paraded to the press and the public in the capital Abuja.

The interrogation and confessions of the policemen has led to the arrest of 19 principal suspects and recovery of vast arms and ammunition.

Police spokesman, Don Awunah, said the principal suspects and the dismissed police officers would soon be charged in court.

He commended ethical officers for making sure that Nigeria is safe and secure especially at the flash points of the North East, North Central and Niger Delta.

Nigeria is battling the murderous Boko Haram sect in the northeast where 20 000 have been killed and millions displaced. Militants are carrying out attacks on oil facilities in the Niger Delta.
