ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Nigeria Police Force has dismissed nine officers for criminal misconduct.

Internal disciplinary hearings, with the officers confessing, found the culprits guilty of aiding and abetting serious crimes, conspiracy with militants and disappearance of explosives.

They have been paraded to the press and the public in Abuja.

The paraded culprits are Yuguda Abbah, Yasan Danda, Donan James, Zakari Kofi, Abbas Mailalle, Diphen Nimmyel, Idris Salisu, Habila Sarki and Bwanason Tanko, mostly corporals and sergeants.

The interrogation and confessions of the policemen has led to the arrest of 19 principal suspects and recovery of vast arms and ammunition.

Police spokesman, Don Awunah, said the principal suspects and the dismissed police officers would soon be charged in court.

He commended ethical officers for making sure that Nigeria is safe and secure especially at the flash points of the North East, North Central and South South (Niger Delta).

“Their sacrifices will not go in vain. They will be adequately rewarded.”
