JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – THE MTN Group has appointed Zimbabwean executive, Ralph Mupita, as its new Chief Financial Officer and executive director for the group as part of its turnaround programme.

The appointment is effective April 2017.

He joins from the financial powerhouse Old Mutual, where he was Chief Executive Officer of Old Mutual Emerging Markets (OMEM).

The appointment of Mupita is the latest in a series of promotions by the company reeling from a record-breaking fine (N330 billion) in Nigeria, its biggest market.

Other appointments include Rob Shuter as the CEO.
