MTN 8 fixtures, venues confirmed

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – THE 2016/17 MTN8 will kickoff on August 25, the Premier Soccer League has announced, a day after league fixtures were released.

Perennial favourites Kaizer Chiefs and newboys Cape Town City FC will kickoff proceedings at the majestic Cape Town Stadium at 20h00.

A day later, Chippa United will make their maiden appearance in the MTN8 competition when they travel to Rustenburg to play Platinum Stars at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

Later on Saturday (20h15), league runners-up Bidvest Wits will be at home to Orlando Pirates at the Bidvest Stadium.

On Sunday, reigning league champions Mamelodi Sundowns will be at home Loftus Stadium against neighbours SuperSport United in the Tshwane derby.

The match will kick-off at 15h00.

Winners of the tournament pocket R8 million while the other seven sides bank R800 000.

MTN 8 champions Ajax Cape Town will not be defending the trophy after finishing outside the top eight.
