JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – MTN South Africa has appointed Nhlanhla Qwabe as the new Chief Human Resources Officer.

The appointment is effective August 1.

Qwabe replaces Themba Nyathi.

MTN SA Chief Executive Officer, Mteto Nyati, says, “We are pleased and excited to have a candidate of Qwabe’s calibre who has the requisite skills, experience and expertise to help MTN realise one of its strategic objectives of overhauling employee engagement.”

Qwabe is grateful for the opportunity to join the company.

“I am looking forward to contributing to create a meaningful employee experience towards the realisation of MTN’s vision of delivering a bold new digital world to all our stakeholders,” says Qwabe.

Qwabe joins MTN from Aspen Pharmacare, where he held the position of Group Human Resources Executive. Prior to Aspen, he served as Human Resources Director for Nike South Africa, and he also worked for MultiChoice where he served in various capacities in a senior management role.
