Navy destroys Delta illegal oil refinery, arrests suspects

ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Nigerian Navy has arrested an unspecified number of suspected pirates and recovered a vessel some four months after alleged sea robbers hijacked it.
In a related development, a Navy raid, which was carried out in the troubled Delta State ‘s Ogbe-Igoh community in Warri, ,the Navy destroyed an illegal refinery site and one Cotonou boat containing about 50 tonnes of stolen crude oil and 6 X 15 metal tanks containing illegal refined oil.
Christian Ezekobe, Navy Spokesperson, said no suspect was apprehended as they fled the site before the arrival of the patrol team.
“The Nigerian Navy has not rested on its oars. More pipeline vandals have been arrested,” he added.
