JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – SENDR, a smart-phone based mobile application (app) courier service, is now available on Android’s mobile operating system.

Sendr’s co-founder, George Sibotshiwe, the app developer’s end goal had always been to offer consumers the convenience they deserved and should expect from a service provider such as theirs.

The app has until now be available on the iOS.

“It therefore made sense for us to ensure our application is available on Android as well,” said Sibotshiwe.

The availability of the app on Android follows research indicating Android was the mobile operating system of choice in South Africa.

Recent figures from Vodacom’s showed that the mobile service provider had 5,41 million Android users on its network – making Android the most popular mobile operating system in South Africa.

Sibotshiwe said Sendr’s need to continuously innovate was to ensure they offered customers the best service.

“Historically, courier services in the country has always put the consumer in the hands of the service provider – we want to change that,” added.

As a proudly South African enterprise, Sendr’s commitment to the country was evidenced through its efforts to create employment.

“We also know that we cannot be successful if our country and our people are not successful. We remain committed to innovating to address our country’s challenges and consequently creating much needed jobs,” said Sibotshiwe.

The Sendr app is designed to assist individuals, businesses, and private and public entities with point-to-point delivery of small goods and items. It gives users real-time control of requested point-to-point services, as well as live and continuous tracking of the item’s progress from itspick-up point, right up until delivery.
