ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Biafra Nations Youth League (BNYL) Congress will go ahead despite the intimidation of leaders of the movement, Deputy President, Ebuta Victor Takon, has declared.

The congress is scheduled for next week.

“We will go ahead with our planned congress in Obudu with Bakassi Peninsula refugees and other Biafra youths on the 9th of April, 2016,” Takon said.

The declaration comes a few days after the deputy leader of the youth organisation was arrested in Cross River State.

The charges were not clear but he is under watch.

Takon is undeterred.

“I am prepared for any challenges but I would advise those arresting activists anyhow to always apply caution or create troubles for themselves, Biafra is not a criminal activity only that few use our name for criminal activities,” he said.

BNYL is among a number of organisations demanding the cessation of Biafra from Nigeria.
