History made at junior tennis tourney

PRETORIA , (CAJ News) – DAMIEN Laporte has made history at the 39th African Junior Championships (AJC) in Pretoria after becoming the first player from Seychelles to triumph at the event.

The 13-year-old defeated Mickael Osewa of Nigeria 7-5 6-4 to win the boys’ Under 14 title, while Egypt’s Yousef Khamis won the boys’ Under 16 crown.

South Africa’s Makayla Loubser and Burundi’s Sada Nahimana won the Under-14 and Under-16 girls’ events, with the latter securing her third straight AJC title.
