Troops demystify Boko Haram spiritual base

ABUJA, (CAJ News) – AN unspecified number of alleged Boko Haram terrorists have been killed after Nigeria  troops raided a so-called spiritual power base for insurgents.

Members of the of 81 Battalion and 251 Task Force Battalion of 25 TaskForce Brigade, 7 Division Nigerian Army carried out the attack at the Alagarno forest, Borno State.

Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, Acting Director Army Public Relations, said the raid was in continuation of their offensive clearance operations ofremnants of Boko Haram terrorists in the North East.

The troops, based on tip off, conducted a clearance operation aroundAlagarno forest general area, destroying terrorist’s camps at Mosa,Ariwuzumari and Kagalmari, as well as Missene, Joba, Yajiwa and Sansan.

Usman said during the operations, the troops were able to clear all the camps, killing “quite a number” of terrorists and recovered Boko Haram terrorists flags hoisted on some premises.

Troops destroyed the insurgents’ logistics base and recovered 31motorcycles, assorted foodstuffs, a donkey and a pick up van, AK-45 rifle and a Dane gun.

Other items recovered include two boxes of 7.62mm ammunition, four loadedmagazines of AK-47 rifles and two magazines pack.
