CAPE TOWN, (CAJ News) – AJAX Cape Town have an opportunity to move further up the log when they host in-form Mpumalanga Black Aces at Athlone Stadium on Wednesday.

Kickoff is 19h30.

The Urban Warriors are bubbling with confidence following a convincing away 3-1 victory over Pretoria’s SuperSport United this past Sunday.

Goalscorers on the day, Tashreeq Morris, Toriq Losper and Prince Nxumalo, are expected to maintain their form.

Ajax leapt to eighth following the victory and might end Wednesday on sixth, depending on the result of the other match pitting log-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns and seventh-place Orlando Pirates.

The Cape side has 22 points from 17 games and have a game in hand.

Aces are third after a terrific season, spearhead by top scorer Collins Mbesuma.

Their campaign took a slight setback over the weekend when Bloemfontein Celtic held them to a one-all draw.

Meanwhile, Mbesuma’s former sides Pirates and Sundowns will contest a Gauteng derby also on Wednesday.

Presently Sundowns are on top of the log with 42 points from 18 matches while Pirates are seventh with 23 from 17 matches.
